Our Mission:

RFID in Tires Consortium is organized and guided under the auspices of The International RFID Business Association, (RFIDba). The RFIDba, was founded in 2004 and is a non-profit, educationally focused, vendor-neutral, technology and frequency-agnostic organization that serves the needs of the end user community who are in the process of exploring and implementing RFID in their enterprise. The RFIDba in order to facilitate the rapid adoption of RFID technologies by businesses in all vertical markets is focused in the creation, production, and delivery of high quality, University level, educational programs on RFID and other associated complimentary technologies. The RFIDba advocates the “Holistic” approach to the implementation of RFID technologies. The RFIDba also offers value added business services and networking opportunities to its members around the world.

The RFID in Tires Consortium (RTC) is a global, NOT-for-profit, educational centric, trade group. It has been established to promote vendor-neutral and technology-agnostic solutions for the commercial Tire Industry. Membership in RTC is open to all sectors of the Tire, Trucking, and OTR Industries.

The mission of the RFID IN TIRES CONSORTIUM™ (RTC) is to empower, inspire and educate individuals and organizations within the tire manufacturing, trucking and OTR industries about the benefits of RFID, barcodes, sensors and wireless technologies. The RTC fosters learning and best of breed excellence through cooperation with tire manufacturers, tire dealers, government, aftermarket suppliers and trucking industry leaders and serves as a conduit for delivering long term and tangible commercial benefits to the overall transportation industry.

The RTC sponsored technologies should be designed to address the end users requirements including incremental savings, improved safety, enhanced productivity and environmental-friendly procedures.

What sets this consortium apart from other RFID organizations is the dedication to the unique requirements /needs represented by the tire, trucking and OTR industries not likely treated justly by other non-vertically aligned groups.
